SYNOPSIS

Dr. Peter Palma joins the medical team of the Paradise to treat passengers for minor ailments as the cruise ship sails across the Atlantic. But he soon discovers that something foul is festering under the veneer of leisure. Deep in the bowels of the ship, a vile affliction pits loved ones against each other and shatters the bonds of civil society. The brig fills with felons, the morgue with bodies, and the vacation becomes a nightmare.

One by one, the chaos claims Peter's allies. His mentor spirals into madness and the security chief fights a losing battle against anarchy. No help comes from the captain, who has an ego bigger than the ocean.

With the ship racing toward an unprepared New York, the fate of humanity hinges on Peter's deteriorating judgment. But he's hallucinating and delirious...and sometimes primal urges are impossible to resist.

The Regression Strain is a fast-paced medical thriller laced with psychological suspense, perfect for fans of Michael Crichton and Blake Crouch.

REVIEW

Review: The Regression Strain

Dr. Peter Palma, a burnt-out family practice physician, is just looking for escape when he signs up as a cruise doctor. I’m sure visions of Love Boat, tropical drinks and lazy days are spinning through his head when he steps aboard. But almost immediately he senses something is off. The passengers are crude and sometimes violent; his fellow physician is rude and unwelcoming. It doesn’t take long for him to figure out something is seriously wrong on the ship. As passengers die and the ship’s brig fills up, it’s up to him and his resourceful nurses to figure out what is happening aboard the cruise to hell. Who has unleashed the destructive virus and why? This was a fun and engaging read that made me question my desire to set foot on a ship again! The plot, although not original, is given a new twist with the mystery illness that is striking down not only the passengers but the crew members. I enjoyed the medical aspect of the story and the devious method of dissemination of the virus. The story is well written, the pace zips along, and we anxiously await the fate of the passengers. I would recommend this book to readers who love a good thriller. I give this book 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
