After a harrowing attempt on a judge's life at the courthouse, Deputy US Marshals Madison James and Jonas Quinn are tasked with finding a missing woman and an endangered child in connection to the murder of the judge's wife. What seems like a fairly straightforward case becomes hopelessly tangled when the marshals discover that the woman they are searching for is not who they think she is.

Madison and Jonas are forced into a race to find the woman and the child before the people who want her dead discover her location. And in a final showdown that could cost her everything, Madison will come face-to-face with the person who murdered her husband.

The Catch by Lisa Harris is a fast-paced, page-turning thriller of a novel. Although it is the third in a series and I have not read the first two, I did not feel lost or stranded as one often does when diving into the middle of a series. Harris’ writing style is straightforward, engaging and hooks you in the first few pages.

U.S. Marshalls Madison James and Jonas Quinn are on duty at the Courthouse when an attack is made on a Federal Judge. With an intricate plot that shifts from one case to two, the pair work at a frenetic pace to catch a killer and rescue a missing baby. As the story progresses, Madison, whose husband was murdered, begins to regain her memory of the day she was shot by his killer, adding yet another layer to storyline.

Billed as a Christian Romantic Thriller, I found the romance room temperature at best.  The characters felt believable even if their job performance was a bit over the top. Overall, I really enjoyed the story and the author kept me guessing until the end. Readers of the first two books are sure to be satisfied by the conclusion which resolves the murder of Luke, Madison’s husband.
Readers who enjoy a good story without sex or profanity will appreciated this intriguing novel.
